The Game Drive Experience: Part 2

The Game Drive Experience: Part 2

I had so many game drives and photos that I needed to break up these posts so you wouldn’t be overwhelmed! To read about my experience in Tarangire and the Ngorongoro Crater, click here!

Let’s continue on, as we have much to see!

Serengeti

Serengeti means “Endless Plains” and that is exactly what you’ll find there! Beautiful, endless plains filled with wildlife.

My driver and guide, Elibariki, from Kiota Camp, was determined that I have an excellent day with numerous animal sightings. And he did not disappoint!

It was on this day that I had the most beautiful moment with a lioness. Face to face, eye to eye, we were locked in a mutual acknowledgment of love and understanding, from less than ten feet away!

Hello beautiful!
Hello, beautiful!

This was also the first day that I saw a Leopard! And if you’re not watching carefully, you will completely miss this beautiful animal lounging in the tree!

Eli was also determined that I see a cheetah, so he drove way out into the Serengeti – about 2.5 hours – and then spotted this lovely, chillin’ all by herself.

We stayed and watched her for about thirty minutes, before starting our drive back. Still, we saw many animals along the way!

Unafraid of the thorns on the tree, this Guinea Fowl basks in the sunlight.

To round out my spectacular day, it was only fitting that I have another special moment with a lion. This time, it was with the King.

Maasai Mara

My final days on Safari were spent in the Maasai Mara, with driver and guide, Mohammed, from Rekero Camp. An avid photographer, seeing animals is his passion and not just a job. (I love that!)

We started our morning game drive with a beautiful sunrise.
