I stayed here when it was Regent Bali, and about a year later Fairmont bought this hotel and rebranded. This review is based on my experience as Regent Bali, although according to recent TripAdvisor reviews, the rooms appear the same with equally excellent service. (Updated July 5th, 2016)

This place was beautiful! I kept having to pick my jaw up off the floor!

Yes, this place cost more than most places in Bali, and it was reflected in the suites, food presentation, service, and grounds. I got what I paid for and left feeling eager to return!

I specifically went to Sanur to visit a friend who had just moved to Bali, and she lived not far from the hotel. I chose this hotel because I wanted to stay somewhere NICE. And Regent Bali went above and beyond my expectations of what nice could look like. In addition, the service was EXCELLENT. Anything I needed was delivered quickly and always with a smile.

The pool was beautiful and warm! It was the first pool I had been in that I could just walk in, no adjustment to the temperature necessary. The loungers were very comfortable and nicely set.

The food was excellent. I had the breakfast buffet the first day I was there and I was amazed at the arrangement and abundance of options. I ordered room service twice and again, timely delivery and well prepared.

Incredible views, and amazing layout. This was a place for entertaining! The lanai is a room in of itself! The mini fridge was filled daily and free! The lounger/sofa is huge and you can certainly spread out and take a nap if you wanted to! Surround sound in the main room (bedroom) was a bonus! Just plugged in my iPhone and soothing music filled the rooms, including the bathroom!

The bathroom was also stellar! Do you like to take baths? There’s a tub in there with your name on it! A separate shower room?! I’m telling you, I’ll be returning just so I can stay at this hotel again.

As many other reviewers have shared, if you’re looking for a beautiful swimming beach, it’s not there. The pool is your best option. But, you have a view of the beach and water from the pool, does that suffice? 🙂

I stayed only 2 nights and thought the moment I arrived that I needed to stay longer. So, what does this mean? I’ll have to return. Yay for me!
